Ugandan soldiers have raided the home of the country’s former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi.
They acted under the command of Brigadier Leo Kyanda, the chief of staff of the Land Forces.
Mr. Mbabazi was sacked by President Yoweri Museveni on the 19th of this month.
He is seen as a potential rival in 2016 elections.
Meanwhile, supporters of President Museveni were putting final touches on the grand to welcome him at Entebbe airport tomorrow morning.
President Museveni has spent the last one week in the United States, where he attended Wednesday’s UN 69th General Assembly meeting in New York.
Sources say the grand welcome is believed to be aimed at thanking Museveni for sacking Mbabazi.
Richard Todwong, the minister Without Portfolio in charge of Mobilisation, denied that the welcome party has anything to do with the sacking of Mbabazi.
Museveni has not yet commented about Mbabazi’s sacking.
