The first examination center for Sudan Secondary school certificate after independence is open in Juba, with 87 students sitting for Examinations today.

Charge d’ affair in the Sudanese embassy says 43 students are doing art subjects and 44 are doing sciences.

Ambassador Majdi Mufadhal told Eye Radio’s Dawn Show that the center is to help families that are not able to send their children to Sudan.

“There are many families that find it difficult for their children to continue with their studies because they started all the education in Arabic from primary to secondary, and they find it difficult with English system here and this is a problem.” He said.

Mufadhal said the center is an initiative by the African Council for Development in South Sudan.

83 of the candidates sitting for the exams are South Sudanese and four are Sudanese.
