The Country Director of the United Nations Development Program has called on the warring parties to stop the war in order to reduce vulnerability of the people.
Balazs Horvath says the parties should also address the effects of the current conflict in the country.
He spoke to Eye Radio after a public lecture on trauma healing at the University of Juba.
“First is to stop the war. Second, address the consequences of the war,” Mr Horvath said.
“Your Country has tremendous potential and please begin using that potential; begin using the young people, and begin using your national values not for war but for providing your people with a much better standard.”
The public lecture was held by Ministry of Justice and supported by UNDP on trauma healing as part of the traditional justice processes.
