Stake holders and educational partners have set up an effort to prioritize education in South Sudan with support from USAID and European Union among others.
In a report released by Save the Children, 400,000 children have dropped out of school due to the conflict in the country.
The report also shows that 60 percent of the teachers in the country are not trained.
The chief executive officer of Save the Children in South Sudan, Jasmine Whitbread, said a country without Education has no future, while addressing the media.
“The future of the country cannot be expected to be positive, if the children are not educated today. So this was a very interesting survey result, even in an emergency situation, where there is often lifesaving responses which are prioritized, children and parents are saying that education is the number one priority.” Save the Children South Sudan boss said.
