SSFA signs $300,000 -deal with MTN in SSPL partnership

The South Sudan Football Association and MTN South Sudan have entered into Premier League partnership, accompanied by the presentation of a $300,000 cheque from the mobile telecom company.

The cheque presents the first installment of a three-year sponsorship deal worth $300,000, with $100,000 to be paid each season.

The event, held in Juba yesterday was attended by football stakeholders, media representatives, and fans.

The initiative aims to elevate the standard of the Premier League by providing much-needed financial support for the league’s operations and fostering talent development across the nation.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Munzer, the CEO of MTN-South Sudan, expressed his company’s excitement and dedication to the partnership.

“By sponsoring of this first  historical premier league in the history of South Sudan, we are not only supporting the game , but  supporting and empowering the youth because the sports especially this soccer create a platform where the youth can showcase  their talent, where the youth can dream big , and where the youth can reach a new height…”

The funds will be utilized for league operations, infrastructure development, and programs aimed at nurturing football talent across the country.

The launch of the MTN-SSFA Premier League sets the stage for a thrilling football season as teams prepare to compete for the ultimate prize in South Sudan’s top-tier football league.

With MTN’s backing, the league is poised to achieve new heights, promoting the game and fostering unity among South Sudanese communities.

The event concluded with a ceremonial handover of the $100,000 cheque, signifying the start of an exciting chapter for football in South Sudan.

From his part, General Augustino Maduot, the President of the South Sudan Football Association, commended MTN for their invaluable support.

He said the cash donation will inspire more talent into the game and help improve the quality of the local league.

“The MTN-SSFA Premier League will not only improve the quality of the competition but also inspire young players across the country to dream big and work hard.

”MTN’s support comes at a crucial time as we continue to build the structures needed for the professionalization of our football.

Mr Maduor believes the partnership is a great deal to achieve greater thing in South Sudan football.

“We thank MTN for believing in our vision and for taking this journey with us. Together, we will achieve great things for football in South Sudan.”
