A one-day old child was killed this morning when opposition forces attacked Farajala locality, Wau County, authorities have told Eye Radio.
The commissioner of Wau County, Elia Kamilo Dimo, said the government forces’ position came under attack at 4 in the morning in the area.
“The rebels attacked Farajala area this morning, and at around 8am, we managed to kick them out of the area. I’m in Farajala right now. The situation is under control,” Mr Dimo said.
Elia Kamilio Dimo said a soldier and another civilians were also killed in the attack.
“From the army, we lost one person; and a child. That child was born only yesterday evening,” he added.
Efforts to reach the opposition side were unsuccessful.
