South Sudan to get two more new states

Two more states will be created in the former Upper Nile and former Western Bhar al-Ghazal to resolve local disputes, according to the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr Martin Elia Lomuro.

This will bring to 30 the number of states.

The two new states are yet to be named. Dr. Lomuro explained to a recent JMEC meeting.

“Now we have 30 states instead of 28, and a nine member team has been formed led; by the First Vice President to report back to the President within seven days.

“These 30 states, the additional two to resolve the on the Shiluk-Dinka Padang in Malakal area, and the Raja-Aweil conflict in Upper Nile and Western Bahr el-Ghazal respectfully.
