South Sudan economy sinks low – World Bank

The World Bank has revised the classification of South Sudan’s economy.

Every July, the World Bank studies member country economies and announces new classifications based on estimates of gross national income per person for the previous year.

South Sudan fell from being categorized as a Lower Middle Income economy to a Low Income economy.

A low income economy has an average annual income per person of lower than one thousand and thirty five US dollars.

All other African countries had no change in their status.
