A South Sudanese woman is being held hostage by suspected criminals who had kidnapped her on Monday in Rabak town of White Nile State in Sudan.

Rebecca Deng Amum, a 39-year-old mother of six children went missing on October 24.

Her niece, Bakhita James Biel told Eye Radio that Rebecca boarded a tricycle from a local market on Monday evening, before being kidnapped on her way back home.

“She had gone to the market to buy some items for the family, and on the way back around four o’clock in the afternoon, she was using the tricycle or Raksha before she disappeared,” Bakhita told Eye Radio.

The relative said the last time the family heard from Rebecca, was on Wednesday morning when she sneaked on a phone and called them to briefly explain her situation.

According to Bakhita, the victim said she blacked out inside the tricycle while coming from the market, only to find herself with two people who were both wearing black clothes and were in a dark place.

“She said that she found herself in a dark place, with people wearing black clothes, and she could not identify the place or the people. She said that those who were with her were two people”

Bakhita said the family contacted the state police and a law enforcement agent promised to conduct a search mission for the missing.
