Lakes State officials have confirmed that the commissioner of Rumbek North County, Abraham Maloth Marier, has been killed in a road ambush.
The Inspector of Police, Mayuom Gop, told Eye Radio that an advisor to the governor was also killed in the attack.
Mr Mayuom says his office is still collecting details of the killing.
“Some of the residents and I talked to are saying the advisor has lost his life but people have not seen his body,” reported Eye Radio’s Stringer Michael Makuach.12
There have been reports of road attacks in the area. Many government officials often blame the killings on revenge attack.
