The commissioner of Rumbek North County, Marial Machar, has been dismissed.
The acting Minister of Information in the state, Dhieu Wol, says the dismissal of the former commissioner is part of normal administrative changes.
“There is always a relief and there is appointment,” he told Eye Radio. “So the commissioner was relieved and then another commissioner was appointed.”
The Governor of Lakes State Matur Chut Dhuol appointed Abraham Maloth Marier as the new commissioner; he was sworn into office this morning.
Rumbek North County has witnessed incidents of cattle raids and revenge attacks in recent weeks.
