Reopening of Leer midwifery school postponed due to violence

The Presbyterian Relief Development Agency says it has postponed the reopening of their Midwifery school in Leer, Unity state until further notice.

This comes after fighting broke out in the country.

The school closed in November for the end of year holidays.

PRDA field manager in Leer Jambil Mani said they cannot manage to keep the students in the compound while the area is insecure.

He also said their school offers midwifery training to ladies across the country, with the support of church relief agencies, regardless of their tribes.

He said when the situation is calm in the country, all students will be notified.
