Remains of late Eng. Paul Ajak to arrive in Juba Monday

The body of Engineer Paul Luigi Ajak, who died last month in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, is expected to arrive later today, January 23, his family has confirmed.

His daughter, Maura Paul Luigi Ajak told Eye Radio that the remains of Paul will arrive at 2 pm at Juba International Airport.

According to Maura, the funeral service and the viewing of his body, will take place on Tuesday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Then he will be laid to rest in the afternoon at the family residence at Khor Wilyang in Juba.

“The remains of my dad Engineer Paul Luigi Ajak Nyiker will be in Juba around 2 pm via Tarco airlines, and they will be taken to the morgue tomorrow and then tomorrow the funeral services will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church around 10 am for viewing and the prayer and then followed by burial around 12:30 it will at his house in Khor Wilyang tomorrow on Tuesday.”

Engineer Paul Luigi Ajak Nyiker, a veteran civil servant, passed away on December 14 2022 aged 76.

The late is survived by several sons and daughters.

Before South Sudan’s independence, Paul Luigi had worked as Director-General several southern regons as well as in some northern states of the Sudan.

From 1998 – 2000 he was a Commissioner of Malakal County and before serving as a Political Adviser to White Nile State from 2002-2005.

Engineer Paul was also the Co-founder of Ivory Bank in Khartoum in early 1990s.
