Author : | Published: Tuesday, October 20, 2015

The SPLA Commander in charge of Division Six, based in Western Equatoria, General Johnson Juma Okot has announced that there is a rebellion in the state.

In a press conference in Juba last evening, General Juma said the rebellion is being led by a person he identified as Wesley Wilibe.

He says the group launched several attacks on SPLA soldiers in the past months within the greater Mundri region.

“In these encounters, we lost more than seven soldiers; and from the enemy side, we counted 14 bodies on the ground,” General Okot said.

However, General Okot says the SPLA still controls the area.

Mr Wesley, who is accused of leading the rebellion, has not commented.
