Health authorities say the rate of HIV and AIDS infection in Yei town is alarming.

The State Minister, Kogo Manase, attributes the situation to influx of foreigners in the border town.

He called on the national government to review immigration policies.

“There is a risk of health threat. We are exposed to other threats like HIV/AIDs and many more others,” he said.

“We are located at the border of Uganda and Congo which are very close. You never know who is coming by the border inside the country.”
