A Meteorologist has called on the National Ministry of Agriculture to advise farmers to follow weather change while planting their crops.
The Meteorology Department said there will be less rainfall for the next three months in some parts of the Country.
Edward Andrew Achiek, senior meteorologist, said his office has predicted that Upper Nile, Unity State, Northern Bahr Al Ghazal and part of Eastern Equatoria State will receive little rain.
He was speaking during the announcement of the seasonal weather forecast for the month of June, July and August at Juba International Airport.
“South Sudan is divided into two zone, the first zone which is under near normal to below normal rainfall,” Mr Achiek explained.
“Those areas are Malakal, Upper Nile State in general, Unity State, Northern Bahr el Ghazal and some parts of Eastern Equatoria State, especially Torit and the areas around it.
“Those areas experience near normal to below normal which means the rainfall for this season will not be much in the area.”
Mr. Edward said Central Equatoria, Jonglei, some of Eastern and parts Western Equatoria State will continue to receive normal rainfall.
