Prices of goods shoot in Western Equatoria

The Commissioner of Miridi County in western Equatoria State says prices of goods have gone up in the market due to poor roads.

Wilson Thomas says vehicles delivering goods to the county are stuck on the road between Mambi and Rasulo localities.

He told Eye Radio that the prices for some basic goods such as sugar have risen by fifty percent.

“I am trying to go and then rehabilitate between Mambi and then Rasulo which is a biggest problem that we have. There is fear of rise in the prices and we use to have the kilogram of the sugar by 4 pounds now its increase to 6 pounds and then jerkins of soap we use to have it by 4 pounds now it’s go up to 7 pounds”, the Commissioner.

The commissioner says the roads in county are being rehabilitated for to allow the delivery of goods to the county.
