Polio vaccination exercise fails in Kajo-Keji

Author : | Published: Friday, April 22, 2016

A polio vaccination campaign in Kajo-Keji County in Yei River has not reached the expected target due to shortage of vaccines, according to health officials.

The County Inspector of Polio, David Lisi, says they used to vaccinate at least 98% of the children, but this time round failed to do so.

The door-to-door campaign ended two days ago in the county.

Mr Lisi called on the parents whose children have not been vaccinated to take them to the health centers when the vaccines are available.

Polio is a highly infectious viral disease that weakens the muscle resulting in paralysis.
