Pochalla MP rejects incitement accusations against King Agada

A member of parliament from Pochalla North in the Jonglei State assembly has dismissed allegations that his king was behind a recent fighting in the area.

Last week, one person was killed and five others were wounded in a clash between two youth groups in Pochalla town.

Advisor for Administration and Economic Development in Greater Pibor, Ochan David, told Eye Radio that youth from Pochalla North, led by King Akuei Agada Akuei, want to remain under Jonglei State.

Those from Pochalla South want to be administered by Pibor Administration.

“So I want to confirm to you as the people of South Sudan that what the advisor has said is baseless and has no meaning,” said Hon Boutros Ochalla Ojulu.

“For him to say that these are people from the King Akuei Agada Akuei are coming to attack – to take Pochalla back to Jonglei is hundred per cent wrong.”

The Greater Pibor became a separate administration under the presidency after the Cobra Faction of David Yau Yau signed a peace agreement with the government in May 2014.

However, MPs from the area and other politicians are still serving in the Jonglei State government.
