The Greater Pibor Administration has dismissed media reports that some members of the Cobra Faction have joined SPLM/ A in Opposition.

The Deputy Chief for Administration and Finance in the area says a man who might have been a supporter of the faction had defected to the opposition.

Joseph Lilimoi says the man identified as Paulino Zangil had never been part of the Cobra Faction.

“This person was not part of the Cobra. He was a student studying in Uganda and maybe was one of the supporters of Cobra when we were fighting the government,” Mr Lilimoi said.

“He did not participate when we were fighting with the government. But after the signing of the agreement, he was among the youth who came to congratulate us for the agreement and he disappeared.

“After some time, he went to Kenya and joined the rebels.”

Mr. Lilimoi says the security situation in Greater Pibor is calm.
