Peace negotiations cost $17 MILLION

IGAD says the South Sudan peace dialogue has so far cost over $17 million.  

The money comes from the European Union, the US, UK, Norway and other partners.

IGAD Special Envoy Ambassador Malim Mahboub. He spoke at the Closing meeting in Addis Ababa

“We have so far spent resources, items of money for the process precisely 17.4 million UD Dollars,” he confirmed.

The IGAD Heads of State expressed their appreciation to President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar.

And said it was good that they had met face-to-face to agree on forming the Interim government within 60 days.
