A peace conference that was scheduled for next week between the Dinka Ngok and the Misseriya in Abyei has been postponed due to the closure of the border with Sudan.

The Sudan closed its border with South Sudan as it went to the elections.

This peace conference was organized by a British organization, CONCORDIS.

Stephen Mayuen, the NGO representative, told Eye Radio that the conference will be conducted after the re-opening of the border in order to allow all participants to attend.

The Dinka Ngok have been reporting incidents of killings allegedly by the Misseriya in recent weeks.

Mr. Mayuen said the meeting, which will be held in Aweil, will discuss ways of solving differences between the two communities.
