NBS to destroy 800 bags of bad maize flour

More than 800 sacks of maize flour that were found to be invalid for consumption will be destroyed, the National Bureau of Standards has announced.

The Executive Director of the body, Mary Gordon, says the quality assurance department at the bureau had carried out an inspection on the goods.

She says they found out that the maize flour were stored in unfavorable conditions, affecting their quality.

Ms Gordon says the sacks of maize flour were brought in by Amin Akasha Cooperate Company.

“The national bureau of standards found wetness in the flour, but I want to say that it doesn’t mean that Mr. Akasha’s products or flour is not good,” she said.

Efforts to reach Amin Akasha Cooperate Company were not successful.
