Pope Francis held a private 15-minute meeting with President Salva Kiir to push for peace in South Sudan during his visit to Uganda.
The Head of the Holy See Press Office at the Vatican, Fr. Federico Lombardi said the meeting was done in the state house in Uganda.
In a statement to the Vatican Radio, Father Lombardi says there was no much detail about the meeting.
Pope Francis arrived in the Ugandan capital, Kampala on Friday, on the second leg of his week-long Africa trip after his first visit to Kenya.
He will then to travel today to the Central African Republic.
