MPs approve Revenue Authority Bill to its 3rd reading

The Legislative Assembly yesterday passed the National Revenue Authority bill to its third reading. The bill is aimed at reducing illegal taxation.

It was presented to the chairperson of the Economic, Development and Finance in the Parliament, Hon Goc Makuac Mayol, yesterday.

He said that the MPs have demanded that the name of the bill be changed before it is passed in its fourth and final reading.

“The title of the bill has it came from the honorable minister of Justice was National Revenue Authority Bill 2015,” Hon Mayol said.

“But our usage here has been specific; South Sudan Revenue Authority.”

Once passed, it will boost revenue collections in the country.
