The Vice-President has launched a maize mill in Kajo-Keji County that will be able to supply the country with flour.
The county’s press secretary, Amule Charles said that James Wanni Igga has visited the county to assess the security situation and enlighten citizens on the current talks between the government and the SPLA/SPLM in opposition.
He added that the main mill is one of the initiatives by the vice president to improve agriculture in the country.
Speaking to Eye Radio, Mr. Amule said the people of Kajo-keji welcome the decision to open a maize mill.
“They are very happy because they will be getting maize flour from within than those that will be coming from Uganda or the other neighboring countries. They have brought some of the products in the market and they have taken much interest of the population of Kajo-keji.”
Mr. Amule added that the Vice President is expected to address the citizens tomorrow.
The maize mill will be run by the Savanna Farmers Association.
