Labor Ministry processing pension funds

The Acting Director General of Pensions and Social Insurance at the National Ministry of Labor says they are now collecting pension’s files from the states.

This comes after the formation of the Pensions Fund Directorate in South Sudan.

Kenneth Loboka Wani, the Acting Director of Pensions says pensioners in the country have not been receiving their dues since for three years now.

“I would like to clarify to the public that up to now we have no yet started paying pensioners in South Sudan because we were still establishing the office for the pensions in the country.” Wani said.

He says after the formation of the board of directors and the appointment of the general management by the President, pensioners will start receiving their money.

“Now we have the broad of directories and broad of trustees have been appointed by the president and also a general manager has been appointed, and now they are handling the responsibilities of pensions in the whole of South Sudan.” He affirmed.

Mr. Loboka urged pensioners in the different states to prepare their files and submit them to the director of pensions in Juba.

“Up to now we have collected pension’s files from the states and we working on them and these files will be handed over to the South Sudan Pensions Fund Office to start paying pensioners their money.” The Acting Director General of Pensions and Social Insurance said.

So the important thing is your document should be ready and bring them to us even now so that we can start working on them”, he said.

South Sudan pension Act was signed into law by the President last year.
