President Kiir on Monday expressed his readiness to host a dialogue of Sudanese political leaders in one week to discuss the six months of conflict between powerful military factions.
Kiir reportedly made the statement during a meeting with the Vice President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, General Malik Agar.
General Agar briefed Kiir on the latest developments in the Sudan and “thanked” him for his continuous search for peace and stability in Sudan, the Office of the President said.
The president then appealed to the military and political leaders in Sudan to end the ongoing conflict through peaceful dialogue, according to the statement from his office.
