Kajo-keji exports honey to US

A cooperative society in Kajo-keji County of Central Equatoria State yesterday exported four tons of honey to Texas, United States.

The River Nile International Cooperative Society was established by a group of farmers in the county in 2003.

A Member of the state parliament representing Kajo-Keji, Jacob Kweyansuk, says this is the first export of honey by the cooperative.

He says this should pave way for South Sudan to engage in other revenue generating activities.

“We are longing to see that all the communities involved in bee keeping and to involve  harvest because we have seen that it is the most simple and easy project,” said Hon Kweyansuk.

Mr. Kweyansuk says the River Nile International Cooperative Society will also export ¾ tons of Shea butter or lulu to the US.
