South Sudan and the Republic of Belarus have established diplomatic relations.

The two countries signed a joint communique this week in Cairo affirming each other’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

They also agreed not to interfere with the internal affairs of each other’s country.

The communique was signed by Belarus’s Ambassador to Egypt, Igor Fisenko and South Sudan’s ambassador Anthony Kon.

Belarus is in Eastern Europe and shares a border with Russia.
