Police in Jonglei are investigating three armed men who were intercepted running away with a cash of 1.8 million pounds.

The men smartly made it through the security checkpoints along the Juba-Bor road, but the luck immediately departed them when they reached Duk County in the north of the state.

The 1,827,000 SSP was nestled into a pickup landcruiser and guarded by the armed men suspected to have been on their way to Fangak.

“They came from Juba and we are trying to investigate; to know the origin and destination; whether this money is a legal money or wrong money,” Wal Athieu, the Jonglei State deputy governor, told Eye Radio.

Police are still investigating the matter.
