Jamus FC Juba sank toothless Wanding FC Nasir on 6:0 aggregates to set up a second meeting with rivals El-Merriekh Bentiu in the South Sudan Cup finals.

A thrilling encounter under a hot Juba weather left both teams unable to score in first half, but Jamus netted in the 49th and 50th minute of the second half to seal a 2:0 victory.

Jamus headed to the second leg with a huge advantage after beating Wanding 4:0 at Buluk Playground on February 19, 2024.

Wanding now face a stiff competition for a third position from Zone A champions – Rumbek’s Gonzaga FC, who bowed out on Wednesday following a 4:1 defeat to El-Merriekh.

Meanwhile, Jamus could be set for a difficult revenge mission against El-Merriekh FC, who almost kicked them out of the tournament after they lost 3:1 in Zone B qualifiers.

None of the four semi-finalists has won the South Sudan cup title in their history, meaning, they will be looking to win their first title at the national level.
