Igga meets Ethiopian foreign minister

Vice President James Wani Igga has told the Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Tedros Adhanom, that the peace agreement is on a hopeful path.

Mr Igga, who met Mr Tedros in Addis Ababa on Sunday, admitted that there are few areas of concern, which he said would be resolved in the due course with the help of IGAD.

The Vice President also noted the importance of helping improve the South Sudanese economy through bilateral trade and investment.

According to an official statement from the Ethiopian foreign ministry, Mr. Tedros welcomed the positive progress in the South Sudan peace process.

He expressed the readiness and commitment of Ethiopia to work together with South Sudan to strengthen bilateral relations with a view to widen and strengthen partnerships on issues of mutual interest.

He also expressed the support of Ethiopia to the implementation of the peace agreement.
