Author : | Published: Thursday, June 5, 2014

The mediators of the South Sudan peace dialogue have delayed the forum of all representatives from South Sudan and international experts.

The forum which is aimed at sharing ideas and exploring ways of resolving the current conflict was to take place today.

Last evening, IGAD announced that the symposium will possibly take place on Friday.

No reasons for the delay have been given.

On Monday, IGAD issued a press statement announcing a 2 days symposium that will be attended by up to 150 participants.

The forum comes after the signing of an agreement on resolving the conflict by President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar on 9th of May in Addis Ababa.

IGAD says, the agreement signified a commitment by the government and the SPLM-in Opposition to seek a political and inclusive solution to the crisis in South Sudan.
