Displaced people are facing a hunger crisis in Gogrial East County of Warrap State.
Over two thousand people have been displaced by the recent cattle raiding in Gogrial East and Tonj North Counties of Warrap state, according to the Gogrial East County Commissioner, Akot Lual Akot.
“The WFP came here and made assessment and went back. They’ve been saying they’re coming. People are suffering. Their situation is so bad. They’re scattered in the areas; some are sleeping under trees, others are sharing with relatives but it is not enough, ”Hon. Akot told Eye Radio.
Warrap state has been increasingly insecure with killings, robberies, and cattle raiding creating fear among the communities.
Commissioner Akot said there is still a lot of tension as reports of cattle raiding increase in the area.
He also said that the state needs urgent humanitarian assistance from the Government and non-governmental Organization.
