An assessment team from the national Ministry of Health deployed to Northern Bahr el Ghazal State has completed a five-day mission aimed at assessing the quality of healthcare services.
The supportive supervision team, deployed to Aweil, the capital of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, was part of the Project Management Unit (PMU), which oversees the implementation of the Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP).
During the visit, the team assessed health facilities across all five counties of the state.
The exercise focused on service delivery, mentoring health workers, providing technical support, and identifying ways to strengthen essential health services.
The visited facilities include Panthou Primary Health Care Centre in Aweil South, Maluakon County Hospital in Aweil East, Mabor-Akot Primary Health Care Centre in Aweil Centre, Gokmachar Primary Health Care Centre in Aweil North, and Nyamlel Primary Health Care Centre in Aweil West.
The team also held meetings with the State Minister of Health, Jafer Riiny Riiny, and senior health officials to discuss progress, challenges, and priorities for improving healthcare delivery in the state.
At the end of the visit, Minister Jafer commended the supervision team for its collaborative approach and stressed the importance of supporting frontline health workers, describing them as the backbone of the health system.
The Health Sector Transformation Project also thanked the State Ministry of Health, county health departments, healthcare workers, community leaders, and partners for their cooperation during the mission.
