The Council of Ministers has approved a proposal to borrow $51 million for migrating from analog to digital transmission.
Most developed countries and few African countries have transformed to digital media and broadcasting system over its advantages.
It is considered more secure and enable fast transmissions over long distances.
Digital system is also cheaper than analog system.
The Minister of telecommunications, Rebecca Okwaci says South Sudan will borrow the money from China for the transformation.
“South Sudan is following suit like other countries of the world and therefore our government is moving to work very hard to ensure that the loans are gotten so that we implement the digital migration,” Ms Okwaci told the media.
African Countries that have already moved from analog to digital system include South Africa, Mozambique, Morocco, Namibia and Botswana.
