The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed media reports that the government of Zimbabwe is bringing about 20,000 of its graduates to be employed South Sudan.
A state media in Harare has reported that Zimbabwean graduates would be given jobs in various sectors, especially in the teaching and nursing professions in South Sudan.
They would be paid the UN rates.
However, the Spokesperson in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb Mawien Makol says the ministry of education was only in Zimbabwe to discuss scholarship opportunities for South Sudanese students.
“This actually covers 200 South Sudanese students that are studying there in various universities, plus other new opportunities for student s to go and study there,” Amb Makol confirmed to Eye Radio.
Amb Makol says the scholarship opportunities offered by Zimbabwe to South Sudanese students is as a result of the good relations between the two countries.
