Gov’t body threatens lawsuit against gas stations

The National Civil Service Commission has threatened a lawsuit against refilling stations that have been built in residential areas.

Gregory Tiep says petroleum products should not be in the residential areas because they are flammable and can explode and destroy lives of people.

He told Eye Radio that the commission would take the matter to court once a bill currently under discussion in parliament is passed and signed into law.

“Maybe next week or two weeks to come; you will see what we are going to do,” Mr Tiep told Eye Radio.

However, he did not specify the number of stations that are operating in the residential areas.
