Gov’t to get $10m aid from China

The government of China says it will provide emergency humanitarian assistance worth $10 million to South Sudan.

The Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, Ma Qiang says the assistance is part of his country’s pledge to develop Africa.

He says they will provide food, tents, medical supplies and equipment for vulnerable people in South Sudan.

“I asked for his Excellency, the humanitarian affairs minister, to as soon as possible provide us the list of the needed assistance from China side,” Mr Qiang said.

In May, the Chinese government donated essential items worth $2 million to assist in the resettlement of internally displaced person in South Sudan.
