Governors to meet IGAD mediators

Six governors from South Sudan have arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to meet the IGAD mediators.

They include the three governors of Equatoria, Western Bahr El-Ghazal, Northern Bahr El-Ghazal and Upper Nile States.

The Governor of Western Equatoria State, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, confirmed their arrival to Eye Radio.

“He said they are expected to meet with the IGAD envoys either on Monday or Tuesday,” reported Eye Radio’s Nichola Mandil in Addis Ababa.

Last week, the envoy of the governor s of Equatoria, Suba Samuel Manase met with IGAD mediators in Addis Ababa.

“He said they were lobbying for Vice President, James Wani Igga, to maintain his position as second man in the country during the interim period,” Mandil added.

The IGAD has proposed that the position of the First Vice President goes for the SPLM-SPLA In Opposition.
