The Governor of Central Equatoria State has travelled to Kajo-Keji County for public rallies on peace, reconciliation, security stabilization, and election preparedness ahead of the December 2026 general elections.
Emmanuel Adil Anthony started his tour last week in Terekeka County and is expected to visit all counties across Central Equatoria State as part of efforts to engage citizens and local leaders.
Speaking to Eye Radio, the Governor’s Press Secretary, Derrick Derrickson, said the visit will focus on spreading messages of peace and encouraging dialogue among communities and stakeholders.
He said the Governor will hold meetings with different groups in Kajo-Keji on peace initiatives.
He also said the Governor will call on those who have taken up arms against the government to renounce violence and embrace peaceful coexistence.
“The trip is basically to the counties of course across the states union, to disseminate messages of peace, reconciliation, security stabilization of course and messaging on election preparedness of, you know, the country is preparing for the 2026 December general election, and that is basically what the leadership, the governor is here for,” Derrick said.
Derrickson also said the governor was going to engage with community stakeholders on matters related peace in the region.
And you’ll be also engaging with the various stakeholders within Kajo-Keji on matters pertaining genuine peace, and peace initiatives. And call on those who taking up arms against the government to denounce violence and join the wagons of peace. And most importantly, the governor is also here,” He added.
The rally comes as South Sudan prepares for its first general elections scheduled for December 2026.
