A ten-year old girl has been arrested in Kajo-Keji County in Central Equatoria Stare for trying to jump into fire.

County officials say the girl felt responsible for setting several huts on fire while she was cooking in a kitchen.

The county spokesperson, Baden Elikana, told Eye Radio that police decided to arrest the girl in order to save her life.

“…. when she was cooking, the fire started from the kitchen and there it spread to two families, where the four buildings have been completely burned to ashes and because of this she felt guilty so that it is easier for her to lose her life.” He said.
