The South Sudan Chamber of Commas is urging the Central Bank to give dollars to fuel importers.
This appeal comes as a result of shortage of petrol in Juba.
Speaking to Eye Radio, the secretary general of the chamber, Simon Makuei, says fuel dealers need to import fuel at a lower price.
But he says those who import fuel do not receive dollars from the Central Bank.
“We need to give them the rate of Central Bank so that they can import fuel at the lower price, and making sure that the price remains the same,” Mr Makuei said.
He attributed high rate of dollar to the fuel shortage.
“The rate of the black market has gone high to 5.1 Pound against one dollar, and the price of fuel remained at 6SSP, and business people who are dealing in fuel will not be able to import with the rate of 5.10 the black market rate,” he argued.
Simon Makuei also urged the security organs to monitor those who want to take the advantage of the situation.
