Friday-declared Cultivation Day in EE State

Friday has been declared a day of cultivation by the state government in Eastern Equatoria. The announcement was made by the governor, Louis Lobong Lojore during the weekly council of ministers meeting on Friday.

The State Minister of Information, Clement Laku Chichim says the aim is to boost agriculture in the region and the practice is to be followed up until to 15th October this year.

Mr. Chichim said that the state council of ministers has also tasked the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to form a committee to monitor all government employees to ensure that they use the day for its rightful purpose. Eastern Equatoria State falls within the Green Belt of South Sudan, which is a fertile for cultivation.
