French embassy trains teachers

The French embassy and its institute at the University of Juba has pledged to train French teachers from all over the country.

Six teachers have so far been selected for the training. They traveled to France yesterday.

The initiative is part of an agreement signed in Septembers this year between the French government and the government of South Sudan.

“They will have intensive teacher training for several months,” said Antoine Dutarte, project manager in Education Affairs at the French Embassy.

The trained teachers will train other teachers in the country after completing their intensive training in France.

There are over 2,000 students currently studying French language in Juba.
