No more fighting

The SPLA says no more fighting has been reported since Monday when it clashed with Opposition forces in Renk County, Upper Nile State.

Spokesman Col Philip Aguer said this morning there has been no violation of the cessation of hostilities since the incident.

“The security situations this morning is quiet, relatively stable,” he told Eye Radio.

“We hope the other side of the rebels of Dr. Riek Machar this time will be serious about the peace and stability of the people of South Sudan and this is what we hope to see in the coming few days.”

The government and the SPLM in Opposition signed an agreement on Sunday in Addis Ababa recommitting them to the cessation of hostilities.
