JUBA, South Sudan (Eye Radio)Eye Radio was named the Best Media House of the Year by the South Sudan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (SSNCCIA) at the annual Chamber Quality Awards 2025.

The announcement was made during a night of celebration held on Wednesday, December 10, honoring top performers across South Sudan’s key economic and service sectors. This award is a powerful testament to the unwavering hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality journalism demonstrated by the entire Eye Radio team.

The station leadership expressed its deep gratitude to its loyal listeners and supporters, acknowledging them as the core inspiration behind its continued success. Stephen Omiri, CEO of Eye Media/Eye Radio, highlighted the deep meaning of the recognition for their mission and staff.

“It shows the importance of independent journalism in the country. It shows the legacy media is still vital to give information that is accurate, credible and reliable, and so that it means a lot to us,” Omiri stated.

Mr. Omiri dedicated the award to the station’s diligent journalists and the dedicated listeners who contribute to making the programming meaningful and interactive.

Koang Pal Chang, Eye Radio Program Manager, noted that the awards marked the 10th anniversary of the Chamber Quality Awards, which specifically recognizes institutions supporting the country’s economic and investment environment. The accolade, he stated, serves as a mandate for the future.

“This is the time now we have to do more. We have to do a lot of reporting on issues related to the economy and investment in the country,” Mr Chang affirmed, emphasizing the station’s renewed focus on business and economic reporting.

The CEO also called upon the business community and institutions to actively partner with independent media, such as Eye Radio, through advertisement and sponsored awareness programs, ensuring the vital service of providing credible and reliable information can continue uninterrupted.

The Chamber Quality Awards 2025 celebrated exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the nation’s economic landscape.

Among the high-profile recipients were: H.E. Vice President Dr Wani Igga, who was recognised for his Exemplary Leadership and Outstanding Contribution to the Transformation of South Sudan’s Economic Sector.

Honorable Adut Salva Kiir, Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs, received the prestigious Outstanding Leadership Chamber Quality Award for 2025.

Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang, Minister of Trade and Industry, was honored with the Leadership Excellency Award, while Mapula Bodibe, CEO of MTN South Sudan, was proudly named CEO of the Year for 2025.

The event marked a significant celebration of organizational and individual excellence that drives innovation and stability within South Sudan’s fragile economy. Eye Radio joins these distinguished leaders in affirming a commitment to the highest standards of quality and service.
