Companies raising water prices to be shutdown

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has warned that bottled water companies that continue to increase prices will be shut down.

Some water companies have refused to lower the prices, saying there is scarcity of US dollars in the market.

“If a company says that because you are not giving me dollar I am closing, we will withdraw the certificate from them and then they can close down,” said Simon Akuei, Secretary-General of the Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Akuei said the price of the small bottle of water should remain at 1 pound, and the big bottle should be sold at 2 pounds.
