There is fear of increase in cholera cases inside UN camps in Malakal, Upper Nile State authorities have said.
The increase in the cases of water-borne disease is due to the rainy season.
The deputy governor of Upper Nile State, Awer Dau Agang, told Eye Radio that there is poor hygiene in the Internally Displaced camps inside UNMISS compound in Malakal.
“We expect to receive more cases from UNMISS camp because the health condition there is not good,” said Mr Dau.
So far, about 10 people died from the disease in Wau Shilluk payam, Malakal.
Mr Dau said they are prepared to contain it.
